Formation Autodesk Navisworks — Introduction
BIM coordination, clash detection and schedule simulation on a federated model
This 3-day introductory course teaches architects and interior architects how to federate models from every discipline in Navisworks to catch conflicts before construction starts. You navigate the model, manipulate and query objects, configure clash tests with their rules, analyse and group conflicts, then produce reports ready for coordination meetings. The final day covers Timeliner to simulate site progress and link the model to the construction schedule.

Course objectives
Distinguish the three Navisworks editions and choose the file types suited to each use case
Export from Revit to Navisworks and work directly alongside the design model
Navigate a federated model: navigation bar, walk, orbit, gravity tool, saved viewpoints and section planes
Manipulate objects: selection, colour, transparency, hiding, moving, rotating and scaling
Query and organise the model through the selection tree, object search, saved selections and the selection inspector
Create a clash test, define its rules and select the object sets to compare
Analyse, resolve and group detected conflicts, then generate a report as viewpoints or HTML
Build a 4D simulation with Timeliner: task creation, object attachment, appearance configuration and simulation settings
